KöR is a multi-week protocol, not a one-and-done appointment. The full sequence is designed to condition the enamel, allow the gel to do its work, and stabilize the result for the long term.
- Consultation and shade assessment Dr. Erica reviews your smile history, examines your teeth, and confirms KöR is the right fit. You’ll leave knowing what tier of the KöR system fits your case and what realistic results look like. About 30 minutes in-chair.
- Custom trays fabricated Impressions of your teeth are sent to fabricate your custom KöR trays. These are not off-the-shelf — the precise custom fit is essential to the saliva-sealing function that makes KöR work. Typically 1 to 2 weeks to fabricate.
- At-home conditioning phase You wear your custom trays with refrigerated gel while sleeping for approximately two weeks. This conditions your enamel and achieves significant whitening before you return to the office.
- In-office whitening session Your in-office appointment delivers the final, dramatic shade transformation. Most patients reach their target shade in this single visit. You’ll leave with your custom trays and maintenance gel for long-term upkeep.

Whitening does NOT change the color of dental work
Crowns, porcelain veneers, composite fillings, and bonding are all manufactured to a specific shade when they’re placed. Whitening gel has no effect on these materials.
