Whole-Body Dental Care

Holistic & Biological Dentistry in Orland Park, IL

Mercury-free, preservation-first care from a dentist who pays attention to how you breathe, sleep, and heal — not just how your teeth look.

Many of the families who find us are looking for a more natural, whole-body approach to dentistry — often called holistic or biological. That fits how we practice. We’re not chasing a label; we just practice the way Dr. Erica would want her own family cared for. Here’s what that actually means at Inspire Dental Wellness.

“Holistic,” “Biological,” “Natural” — What Do These Actually Mean?

These aren’t licensed specialties or government-regulated terms — no board issues a “biological dentist” certificate, and different practices use them to mean different things. So rather than lean on the label, here’s the honest version of how we practice: mercury-free materials, a preservation-first mindset, and attention to how the mouth connects to the whole body and the airway. If that’s what you’re looking for, you’re in the right place. If you’re expecting specific claims we don’t stand behind, we’ll tell you that too.

How a Whole-Body Approach Shows Up Here

Mercury-free, metal-free, BPA-free materials

We don’t place mercury (amalgam) fillings. By default we work with tooth-colored, metal-free, BPA-free materials.

Amalgam removal & replacement — your choice

If you’d like existing amalgam fillings removed and replaced, that’s a conversation we’re glad to have. We use high-volume evacuation and isolation (the Zyris Isolite system) during the process, and the choice is always yours.

Preservation-first

We’d rather protect and strengthen a natural tooth than reach for the most aggressive option — talking through gentler paths like remineralizing approaches and oral probiotics when your case allows.

Whole-body & airway-centered

Inspirare is Latin for “to breathe.” How you breathe shapes how your face develops, sleeps, and ages — so every exam includes an airway look.

Fluoride-free, if that’s your choice

Prefer to skip fluoride? We offer fluoride-free cleanings for patients who want them — no pressure, no shame. Our preservation approach also includes hydroxyapatite-based remineralization when your case allows.

Cleaner air while you’re here

Every operatory has a Medify air purifier, and our central HVAC uses UV purification — so the air you breathe during your visit is part of the care.

A Note From Dr. Erica

“Much of how I practice lines up with what patients describe as holistic or biologically-minded dentistry. I don’t place mercury fillings, and I work with mercury-free materials. My focus is on preserving natural tooth structure, considering how the mouth connects to the whole body and the airway, and giving people honest options rather than a one-size-fits-all plan. I’m not chasing a label — I just practice the way I’d want my own family cared for. It’s also why this practice is called Inspire Dental Wellness. Inspirare is Latin for to breathe. The name is the mission.” — Dr. Erica Zolnierczyk, DMD

Is This Approach Right for You?

A good fit if you…

  • want a dentist who considers the whole picture — airway, materials, prevention
  • prefer preserving natural tooth structure
  • want mercury-free, metal-free materials
  • like honest options over a hard sell

May not be the right fit if you…

  • are looking for the lowest-cost option above all
  • want specific health-cure claims about removing fillings (we won’t make them)
  • need a licensed specialist for a specific surgical issue (we’ll refer you)

What Your First Visit Looks Like

Your first visit runs about two hours — a thorough hygiene visit alongside extended one-on-one time with Dr. Erica. We listen, examine, and start your recommendations in the same visit. You leave with a plan, not a sales pitch.

How Payment Works

We run a concierge, fee-for-service model focused on time and tools, not lowest-cost care. We’re not contracted directly with insurance companies, but many plans reimburse out-of-network care at a similar level — what differs is your specific plan. Our front desk will review your benefits and walk you through what to expect before any treatment. We also partner with CareCredit for financing.

Common Questions

Is a “biological dentist” the same as a regular dentist?

“Biological,” “holistic,” and “natural” describe a whole-body-minded approach to general dentistry — they’re not a licensed specialty or certification. At Inspire Dental Wellness, it means mercury-free, metal-free materials, a preservation-first mindset, and attention to the airway and how your mouth connects to the rest of your health.

Do you place mercury (amalgam) fillings?

No. We don’t place mercury fillings — by default we use tooth-colored, metal-free, BPA-free materials.

Can you remove and replace my old amalgam fillings?

Yes, if that’s what you’d like — it’s a conversation we’re glad to have. We use high-volume evacuation and isolation (the Zyris Isolite system) during the process, and the choice is always yours.

Do you offer fluoride-free options?

Yes — for patients who prefer it, we offer fluoride-free cleanings, no pressure and no shame. Our preservation approach also includes hydroxyapatite-based remineralization when your case allows.

Are you a certified biological or holistic dentist?

There isn’t a government-regulated certification for “biological” or “holistic” dentistry. Dr. Erica is a licensed general dentist who practices a whole-body, preservation-first approach and has additional training in airway-centered dentistry. We describe how we practice honestly rather than leaning on a label.
